interreligious dialogue

interreligious dialogue
This phrase (from the Latin inter, meaning "between," and religio, meaning "respect for the sacred" or "reverence for the gods") refers to the conversations that take place between members of different world religions or different faith traditions; for example, the dialogue between Christians and Jews would be described as interreligious in contrast to ecumenical dialogue between Christians.
